Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is locking horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 59th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Towards the end of the first innings, MI wicket-keeper, Ishan Kishan threw an accurate direct hit to send back Mukesh Choudhary.
Earlier in the game, MI skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked CSK to bat first and his bowlers didn’t disappoint. As far as the changes are concerned, CSK made no change in their playing XI, while MI brought in debutant Tristan Stubbs and Hrithik Shokeen to replace the likes of Kieron Pollard and M Ashwin.

CSK lost three crucial wickets of Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, and Robin Uthappa in the first two overs of the match itself as Daniel Sams and Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc. Riley Meredith also joined in as he took a couple of wickets and reduced CSK to 39/6 in the first 8 overs itself.
MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo started to rebuild the innings, but the latter eventually perished in the 13th over bowled by Kumar Kartikeya after hitting a six in the same over. Eventually, CSK got bundled out for a meager score of 97 in 16 overs only MS Dhoni made a significant score of 36* off 33 balls.

Riley Meredith was bowling the 16th over of the first innings and he bowled a bouncer on the last ball. MS Dhoni was facing the ball while Mukesh Choudhary was there on the other end. In order, to keep the strike to himself, Dhoni left the short delivery and decided to steal a single. Ishan Kishan collected the ball behind the stumps and affected a direct hit and he caught Mukesh Choudhary short of the crease with an accurate throw.
