Earlier in the game, MI skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked CSK to bat first and his bowlers didn’t disappoint. As far as the changes are concerned, CSK made no change in their playing XI, while MI brought in debutant Tristan Stubbs and Hrithik Shokeen to replace the likes of Kieron Pollard and M Ashwin.

During the start of the match, the commentators informed the fans and spectators that due to the technical issues, the teams will not be able to avail DRS and CSK paid the cost for it on the second ball of the match itself as Devon Conway was adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire and he had to go back to the pavilion despite the fact that from the naked-eye it felt like the ball was going down the leg stumps.

In the same over bowled by Daniel Sams, CSK also lost the wicket of Moeen Al, who gave an easy catch to the short-midwicket fielder, Hrithik Shokeen.

In the second over of the bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, who beat Robin Uthappa’s bat on the first three balls of the over, managed to send back the batter with a good length delivery that was pitched around the middle stump and beat the flick across the line and hit the pad in front of off. Uthappa looked to see if he could review but sadly it was not on.
