Having already played six Test matches, Healy entered the match with the intention of making her mark and guiding her team to victory in the Ashes.

In the first Test, Australia won the toss and elected to bat. With a desire to set a formidable total on the opening day, the Australian team aimed to gain an early advantage over their English counterparts. Following the conclusion of the one-off Test, the two teams are scheduled to compete in three T20Is and three ODIs from July 1 to July 18, prolonging the excitement of the Ashes series.

While Healy took the field as the leader, Starc did not participate in Australia’s dramatic triumph in the recently concluded first Ashes Test at Edgbaston. His last Test appearance took place during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against India at The Oval in London.

In that significant encounter, Starc showcased his prowess by claiming a four-wicket haul, contributing to Australia’s victory and securing the coveted mace. Remarkably, Australia stands as the first cricketing nation to have triumphed in all ICC titles across the three formats.
