The latest creative tribute by the dairy brand has captured the attention of fans, as it honours the outgoing coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid. The doodle was accompanied by the words, “Aapki aur team ki khoob Jammy,” a playful nod to Dravid’s nickname, ‘Jammy.’ The caption further read, “Amul, calm ho gaya,” adding to the brand’s signature humor. Amul chose the caption, “Rahul Dravid retires as coach of the Indian team on a triumphant note,” perfectly encapsulating the sentiment of the occasion.

Rahul Dravid, affectionately nicknamed ‘Jammy,’ has been a stalwart of Indian cricket, both as a coach and a player. According to a report by PTI, the moniker originated from Dravid’s father’s employment with Kissan, a company known for producing jam. This unique nickname was given to Dravid by his classmates at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, reflecting his sweet and steady nature.

Amul’s relationship with Rahul Dravid is not new. The brand had previously celebrated Dravid’s viral CRED advertisement campaign, which showcased him in an unexpected, angry avatar. Amul’s creative at the time read, “Jammy is raging, Butter is calming,” with the tagline, “Amul, take a deep breath,” once again highlighting their knack for clever and timely content.

On the cricketing front, under Rahul Dravid’s guidance, the Indian team remained unbeaten throughout the T20 World Cup 2024, ultimately winning the title for the second time. They secured their victory against South Africa in a thrilling final on June 29, triumphing by seven runs to claim the championship. This remarkable achievement marked a fitting end to Dravid’s tenure as coach, leaving a lasting legacy in Indian cricket.
