Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have started their IPL with a convincing win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where Andre Russell almost single-handedly win the game for KKR. Andre Russell is one of those cricketers who can destroy opponents’ bowling. He literally won the game from SRH’s grasp, scoring an unbeaten 49.

However, the KKR needed 53 runs to win the game from the last three overs where Russell and Shubman Gill were on the crease. Russell made it so easy that he smashed unbeaten 49 in just 19 balls and helped KKR to win the game. On the other hand, Hyderabad opener David Warner too scored a 53-ball 85 in his return and guided SRH to put up 181 in 20 overs.

But Russell took two wickets, including Warner’s and played a blistering inning came to bat at No. 5, smashing four huge sixes and as many boundaries. He even hit one of the best death bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who eventually made his captaincy debut in absence of Kane Williamson.

After winning the nail-biting game for his side, Andre Russell was seen speaking to his team-mate Robin Uthappa who also scored (35 off 27) in a post-match conversation for the IPL website. There he expressed that he does 300 push-ups in his hotel room whenever he feels bored! He even showed his biceps to Uthappa.

“Well, not now [push-ups]. When I was bored, I was doing 300 push-ups every few days. That got me interested. We had a good night out and I am excited the way we have started the season,”

Russell said while talking about his ability to hit the big shots with ease.
