Rajat Patidar’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their red-hot away form in IPL 2025 with yet another commanding performance, this time against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In what turned out to be a historic night, RCB secured their sixth consecutive away win of the season — an unprecedented feat in IPL history.

The clinical six-wicket win not only underlined their dominance on the road but also propelled them to the top of the points table, strengthening their case for a top-two finish. After winning the toss and bowling first, RCB’s bowlers executed their plans to perfection.
The experienced pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood applied early pressure, while Suyash Sharma’s clever variations in the middle overs tied up the scoring rate. Krunal Pandya, with his left-arm spin, chipped in with timely breakthroughs. Delhi were eventually restricted to their lowest first-innings total of the season, and RCB never really allowed them to find momentum.

Head coach Andy Flower praised the bowlers and credited skipper Rajat Patidar for making bold, timely bowling changes. “Rajat, a lot of your bowling decisions brought us immediate rewards. It felt like the most complete bowling performance of our campaign so far,” said Flower, visibly impressed with the execution.

With the bowlers doing their job, the onus shifted to the batters, and once again, Virat Kohli stepped up. Chasing a modest target, RCB were jolted early with quick wickets, but Kohli and Krunal Pandya rebuilt with calm assurance. Their 119-run stand, now the highest-ever fourth-wicket partnership against Delhi Capitals in IPL history, became the backbone of the chase. Kohli played the anchor, while Krunal played with aggression and confidence, finishing unbeaten and earning the Player of the Match award.
For Krunal, the knock held deep personal significance. “I’ve waited long to find my rhythm,” he admitted. “I always believed it would come. I’m just glad I could contribute meaningfully and help the team win. When you play for the team, the rewards follow.”

He also cherished the experience of batting with Virat. “His presence, energy, and backing gave me confidence. It’s one thing to score runs, but quite another when they lead to a win,” he said.
With Kohli in sublime away form — averaging nearly 200 with four unbeaten fifties — and Patidar leading tactically, RCB are peaking at the right time. The top-two dream looks well within reach.
