Arjun Tendulkar misses to get a chance in Mumbai’s off-season camp

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, hasn’t earned a chance in Mumbai’s off-season camp. The 18-year-old has recently made a debut in Youth Test cricket, playing for India U-19 team.

For the senior team’s off-season fitness camp, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selectors have added seven new players with the 27 current trained players. While Arjun Tendulkar hasn’t got the chance in the off-season camp, the new seven players are – Shubham Ranjane, Shashank Singh, Ankit Soni, Alpesh Ramjani, Parikshit Valsingkar, Prasad Pawar and Aditya Dhumal.

In the recently concluded two-match Youth Test series between the hosts Sri Lanka U19 and the visitors India U19, the 18-year-old Arjun Tendulkar made his debut in the Youth Test cricket. He played both the games where the left-arm pacer picked up a total of three wickets (best figure 1/32) and the left-handed lower-order batsman scored 0 & 14 runs.

Though Arjun has been ignored in the off-season camp, he can still earn a call-up for the Mumbai senior team in the upcoming domestic season if he performs better in the state organised tournaments.

Talking about the full list of off-season fitness camp, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur etc have also been named in the 34-member list.
