India pacer Arshdeep Singh provided an early breakthrough by dismissing West Indies captain Shai Hope in the third T20I at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, October 11. Hope, who scored a century in the previous match, failed to make a significant contribution this time as India looked to defend their imposing total.

The dismissal came on the penultimate delivery of the second over of the West Indies innings. Bowling from around the wicket, Arshdeep delivered a length ball that moved back into the right-handed batter. Hope attempted an aggressive shot towards the leg side but failed to make contact, allowing the ball to crash into the middle stump.

The West Indies skipper departed for just five runs off five deliveries, leaving his team struggling at 7/1 after 1.5 overs. While chasing India’s target of 224 runs, the visitors were 16/1 after three overs, with Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer at the crease at the time of writing.
