India’s left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra has finally called off his cricketing career as he will be playing his last T20I against New Zealand at his home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla, on November 1.

According to the reports of Hindustan Times, the 3veteran pacer had already informed his decision to head coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli. With ICC’s decision to not schedule any World T20 in 2018, Nehra informed team management that it is only fair that performing juniors are given a longer rope. Nehra won’t play in the Indian Premier League’s next season. He was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in 2017 but missed key games due to injury.

The reports also suggest that Nehra won’t play in the Indian Premier League’s from the upcoming seasons as well. He was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in 2017 but missed crucial games due to injury.

Informing about Nehra’s decision, a BCCI official said, “Yes, Ashish has told both Ravi and Virat that he does not want to continue beyond November 1 when India plays New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla. One thought that he would like to continue till the home season against Sri Lanka. But he feels, it’s the right time to move on.”

He further added, “Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are form bowlers and Ashish felt that it’s only fair in the interest of the team that they continue. Had there not been a match at Kotla next month, Ashish would have retired after playing the third T20 International at Hyderabad on October 13.”

Nehra’s decision to quit IPL was confirmed by ESPNcricinfo’s senior writer Gaurav Kalra on Twitter, he wrote, “No more IPL as well, confirmed that Ashish Nehra will retire from all Cricket after the first T20 vs New Zealand on November 1 in Delhi”.
