The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction for the upcoming edition of 2018 has started at Bangalore and it will be engrossing to see how each of the teams finally shape up. Here is what Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are up to in the auctions.

Stoinis is back in Punjab for 6.2 crore

Marcus Stoinis will stay with King XI Punjab after they snatched this buy from Royal Challengers Bangalore by using their Right to Match card. With this, KXIP has one RTM card left in their kitty. Stoinis will get 6.2 crore INR for playing in Punjab.

Finch to KXIP

KXIP buys Aaron Finch

Australian opener Aaron Finch will be playing for Kings XI Punjab, who won his bidding for 6.2 crores after a big tussle with other franchise. Finch is in great form with his bat for the national side. Last season, he played for Gujarat Lions, whose tenure in IPL has been ended.

RTM saved Miller for Punjab

After conceding four players to their old franchise through RTM, Kings XI Punjab threw their hat in the ring to buy flamboyant South African batsman David Miller. Mumbai Indian was winning the bid at 3 crores but Punjab snatched him from their jaws. He will stay with his old franchise.

KL Rahul – The second most expensive buy of the day

KL Rahul is the second most expensive player in today’s auction and he has been bought by Kings XI Punjab at 11 crore INR. They were stubborn in this bid since the very start and at the end, they won him at a whopping price. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore in the most inactive side and the only team with zero buys. At the end, they didn’t use their RTM card to bring him back. Now, Rahul will play for KXIP.

Karun Nair to play for Punjab

Karun Nair was the first player from Batsmen pool with a base price of 50 lakhs. But, he was bought for 5.60 crores by KXIP, who seems to be the most active bidders of the day. He played for Delhi Daredevils in previous season after playing for Rajasthan Royals earlier.

Yuvi makes a way back in KXIP

Flamboyant Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is making a way back home as his former franchise Kings XI Punjab has bought him for his base price of INR 2 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad was in no mood to retain him through their valuable RTM card and they let him go.

Ravichandran Ashwin to KXIP

Indian spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin has been sold to Kings XI Punjab for a whopping price of 7.60 crore INR. After a big tussle with Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, Preity Zinta’s team won the bid and first marquee player.

He has played for Chennai Super Kings in his Indian Premier League career, but his former franchise was not able to buy him through Right to Match card as they have already retained three Indian players.

Mayank Agarwal, who has had a stellar domestic season, was bought by KXIP for INR 1 crore. Ankit Rajpoot, who has earlier played for Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, has been acquired by KXIP for 3 crores.
