In what could be a blow to not just the respective Teams but IPL in general, Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the IPL following a sport hernia injury. Murali Vijay, Kings XI Punjab’s batting mainstay, too is doubtful after injuring his shoulder, an injury that might take six weeks to heal.

For the uninitiated, Ashwin bowled a staggering 738.2 overs in a long home season, where India played 13 Test Matches against four different opponents. This is the most by a bowler in a single Test season. While Ashwin saw roaring success against the Kiwis and then the English, he couldn’t quite manage to shine against the Aussies and looked worn out and burnt.

Jadeja, who was on the contrary phenomenal with both Bat and Ball against Australia in the series gone by, is likely to miss to miss the first three weeks of the latest IPL season, along with Umesh Yadav who impressed everyone with inspired fast bowling.
