Nathan Lyon (Australia)

Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon hugely impressed in this series as many experts and former cricketers have even remarked him as the best spinner in the present world cricket. At the end of the series, Lyon was the joint leading wicket-taker after picking up 21 wickets in this series with the bowling average of 30.42. His top bowling figures (in innings) in this series were 6/122 at Adelaide, 5/67 at Perth. In the Perth Test that Australia won by 146 runs, Lyon won the Player of the Match award.

In this series, Lyon was also a played some good supporting roles as the lower-order batsman. His brilliant unbeaten 38 runs knock during the fourth innings of the Adelaide Test almost brought a remarkable victory for the side that actually they lost by 31 runs.
