Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India)

The Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar performed brilliantly in every match of the series and especially with the new balls. He finished the series as the leading wicket-taker after picking up a total of eight wickets with the average of 17.37. The right-arm pacer’s best bowling figure in this series was 4/45 during the second ODI, while his first and third ODI bowling figures were 2/66 & 2/28 respectively.

Moreover, in the first ODI, he played a good innings of unbeaten 29 runs.

 

Jhye Richardson (Australia)

The 22-year-old right-arm Australian pacer Jhye Richardson hugely impressed with his brilliant bowling skills. He was the most wicket-taker for Australia in this series as he picked up six wickets in this series. Richardson won the Player of the Match award in the first ODI after his brilliant bowling performance of 10-2-26-4. He was the main responsible of India’s early batting collapse of 4/3 where he picked up two wickets among those first three wickets.

His other bowling figures in this series were 1/59 and 1/27. At the end of the series, he had the very impressive economy rate of just 3.73. Also, in the third ODI of the series, Richardson played a crucial knock of 16 runs at the lower-order, where he also provided a partnership of 45 runs with Peter Handscomb for the seventh wicket.

 

Mohammed Shami (India)

Another Indian pacer Mohammed Shami impressed with his bowling skills. Like the earlier Test series of this tour, the 28-year-old right-arm pacer continued his good bowling performances in this ODI series and took five wickets in this series. After failing to picking up any wicket in the first ODI, Shami’s performances in the next two ODIs were 3/58 and 2/47.

 

(Bowlers – spinners)

Yuzvendra Chahal (India)

The Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal played only one ODI in the series and that was the series-decider third and final ODI of the series where he created a record. The 28-year-old leg-spinner won the Player of the Match award in that game after achieving the best ODI bowling figure on the Australian soil history as his bowling figure was 10-0-42-6.
