Social Media Praise Yuzvendra Chahal For His Brilliant Bowling

Making his comeback to the national side on Friday (18 January) during the series-decider third and final ODI of the series against the hosts Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground (Melbourne), the Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal remarkably performed with the ball in hand. His record bowling figures helped the visiting side to bundle out the hosts for 230 runs (48.4 overs).

The 28-year-old Indian leg-spinner Chahal finished that innings with the brilliant bowling figure of 10-0-42-6. It is the best ever ODI bowling figures in Australia.

Here are the brief details of his wickets which he took in this game.

1st wicket (100/3 in 23.1 overs): Dismissed the no.4 batsman Shaun Marsh (39 off 54 balls) through the stumping that was made by the wicketkeeper MS Dhoni and broke the 73-run partnership for the third wicket between Marsh and Usman Khawaja.

2nd wicket (101/4 in 23.4 overs): The no.3 batsman Usman Khawaja (34 off 51 balls) was dismissed through caught & bowled. It was just the one run partnership for the fourth wicket between Khawaja and Peter Handscomb.

3rd wicket (123/5 in 29.3 overs): The no.6 batsman Marcus Stoinis (10 off 20 balls) was the next batsman who was caught at slip by Rohit Sharma. Chahal broke a 22-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Peter Handscomb and Stoinis.

4th wicket (206/7 in 43.3 overs): Jhye Richardson (16 off 23 balls), the no.8 Australian batsman, was caught by Kedar Jadhav at the short midwicket. Before losing that wicket, Peter Handscomb and Richardson had a 45-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

5th wicket (219/8 in 45.6 overs): Chahal broke the 13-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Peter Handscomb and Adam Zampa after dismissing Handscomb (58 off 63 balls). The highest run-scorer in that innings was trapped for lbw and failed to survive despite taking the help of review.

6th wicket (228/9 in 47.4 overs): Adam Zampa (8 off 14 balls) was the last victim of Chahal in this innings as the Australian batsman was caught at long-on by the ODI debutant Vijay Shankar. It was the nine runs partnership for the ninth wicket between Zampa and Peter Siddle.
