Australia have named a formidable 15-member squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 final against South Africa, set to be played at Lord’s from June 11. The squad features the return of three key players—skipper Pat Cummins, pace spearhead Josh Hazlewood, and all-rounder Cameron Green—who are all making their comebacks after injury layoffs.

Green, who underwent surgery on his lower spine last year, had been sidelined for nearly a year and also missed the ongoing IPL season. Cummins and Hazlewood, both nursing injuries, were unavailable for Australia’s most recent Test series against Sri Lanka. Their return now strengthens an already formidable pace attack that includes Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland.
Veteran spinner Nathan Lyon and Matt Kuhnemann have been named as the two frontline spin options, providing variety and experience. Young opener Sam Konstas, who impressed during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India, has also been rewarded with a place in the squad, while versatile all-rounder Beau Webster earns a call-up as well.

Australia’s batting unit remains solid with Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Josh Inglis forming the core. Brendan Doggett has been named as a travelling reserve and could come into play if injuries arise during the campaign.

The same squad will then travel to the Caribbean for a three-match Test series against the West Indies, beginning June 26.
“We’re thrilled to have Pat, Josh, and Cam back in the squad,” said chief selector George Bailey. “Their experience and quality add great balance. The team capped off the WTC cycle strongly with a great series win in Sri Lanka and a landmark home victory over India, and we’re confident in our preparation for this final.”
