India and South Africa locked horns with each other in the third game of the five-match ODI series at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. An incident happened during the second innings when Avesh Khan took a superb catch mid-on circle to dismiss South African skipper, Temba Bavuma.
Earlier, after winning the toss, the visiting skipper, Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to bowl first because of the unpredictability of the conditions. Neither of the teams made any changes in their playing XI. It was on Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad to get the team off to a flying start in the first six overs.

The young openers smashed the South African bowlers all around the park during their partnership of 97 runs for the first wicket. Both batters scored the fifties before being dismissed. Following this, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya failed to take the moment forward as skipper Pant once again was dismissed due to poor shot selection.
Hardik Pandya (31 from 21) batted till the end and made sure India reach a defendable score of 180 in a must-win game. South Africa started the chase well and it looked like they were in control.

But, on the final ball of the third over which was being bowled by Axar Patel, the South African skipper, tried to clear the in-field in the hopes of getting a boundary. However, Avesh Khan who was standing at mid-on put in a brilliant dive to take an excellent catch as the ball was going away from him, and yet he managed to cling on to it.
