BCCI will make the 50-players database to manage the workload

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking forward for the fit Indian cricket team for every international duty and that’s why they will make out top 50 players list from the IPL 2018, which will begin on April 7.

After the IPL 2018, Indian cricket team has some huge important international cricket schedules until the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. To make the fit and fresh team for every international cricket encounters, BCCI wants to create a 50 players database and then they will monitor their workload and fitness level.

While BCCI has already 27 contracted players, they need to find out 23 more players which they believe to short-list during the IPL 2018.

A senior BCCI office member informed PTI about this, “Yes, the plan is there on the anvil. We want to create a database of 50 players. In those 50 players, 27 are our centrally contracted players (with Mohammed Shami re-inducted) and there will be another 23 players, who will be added to the list. These 23 players will be short-listed during the Indian Premier League.”

The official further added, “Starting from India’s tour of UK (which includes a short tour of Ireland), the national team is going to have enormous amount of workload till 2019 World Cup in England. Those who are performing will have their workload monitored as well as the various parameters of their fitness levels checked. If they don’t attain required levels, they are not likely to be considered for India or India A teams. Physio Patrick Farhart will monitor them at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).”

After the IPL 2018, India will play one-off home Test against Afghanistan. Then, they will travel for the UK where they will play two-match T20I series against the hosts Ireland and after that, they will face the full tour in England (3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 5 Tests).

Later, India will take the part in Asia Cup. After that, Windies will travel in India for the full-series (2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is).

In November-December, India has scheduled a complete tour in Australia. In early, 2019, India will play limited-over bilateral series on the New Zealand soil.

Before the IPL 2019, India will also play the limited-overs home bilateral series against Australia (5 ODIs and 2 T20Is).

Soon after the end of the IPL 2019, India has to be ready for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup which has been scheduled to begin on May 30.
