BCCI Scretary Confirms IPL 2022 Will Be Taking Place In India

During the felicitation function of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah has the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 will be taking place in India. The second phase of the IPL 2021 took place in the UAE during the September-October window.  The decision was taken by the BCCI after the Twenty20 tournament was suspended on May 4 after several positive coronavirus tests among players.

AS per the quotes in Hindustan Times, the BCCI secretary said, “I know you all are waiting to see the CSK play at Chepauk. Well, the moment is not very far. The 15th season of the IPL will take place in India and it will be more exciting than ever with two new teams joining.”

He further added, “We have a mega auction coming up, so it will be interesting to see what the new combinations look like.”

Chennai Super Kings was crowned IPL champion for the fourth time after beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final in Dubai last month. Earlier, the entire 2020 IPL also took place in the UAE, which was won by the Mumbai Indians (MI), as they defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final.
