The BCCI is all set to pay a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Armed Forces during the closing ceremony of IPL 2025, as confirmed by board secretary Devajit Saikia in a statement to India Today. This special gesture comes in the wake of the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a precise military strike carried out on May 7 against terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The operation was launched in response to the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 civilian lives. In honour of the armed forces’ bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to national security, the BCCI has dedicated the IPL 2025 closing ceremony to the country’s real heroes.

“BCCI salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor continue to protect and inspire the nation. As a tribute, we have decided to dedicate the closing ceremony to the armed forces and honour our heroes. While cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing greater than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity, and security,” said Devajit Saikia.
