India’s three different teams are currently playing top level cricket and dominating their opponents in a very similar fashion. Apart from two Indian teams in New Zealand, India A is playing against England Lions in India, where both teams are involved in a five-match List-A series. India A has already won the series by winning the first three games and currently, they are playing the fourth game at Greenfield International Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, where the match was halted due to a bizarre reason of bees attacking the spectators.

England Lions were batting first after winning the toss but Shardul Thakur took no time in removing both the openers. Sam Hain and Ben Duckett, too, failed to spend some time on the crease and left their team in tatters at 55/4. However, Sam Billings and Ollie Pope tried to rescue the ship and stitched a half-century stand.

According to the Asianet News, the fans sitting in the stand were attacked by bees. As a result, the play was stopped and the players were sent back to the dressing room. Luckily no player was bitten by the bees but three fans were admitted to the hospital following the attack. The game was resumed after 15 minutes once the bees were cleared from the ground.

India A is in dominating position at the moment as they reduced England Lions to 221/8 in 50 overs. Ollie Pope scored a timely half-century but his runs come at a slow strike rate of 63. Steven Mullaney, batting at number 7, boosted the score with a run-a-ball fifty.

There are lots of chopping and changing in India A squad for the last two games, where Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul have been added while Ankit Bawane will be seen leading the side. This series is very crucial for Pant and Rahul’s World Cup hopes. Rahul has missed the ongoing New Zealand series due to a controversy occurred on a talk show Koffee with Karan.
