Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar reckons that Australian bowlers made the most of the pitch on Tuesday in the 2nd T20I in Guwahati. The visitors dominatingly defeated the hosts with a thumping 8 wickets win and level the 3-match series by 1-1. The third and final T20 International of the series now will be played in Hyderabad on October 13.

Now, the series decider will be played in Hyderabad on October 13 and it can be expected to be a nail-biter. Australian left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff troubled the Indian batsmen after David Warner chose to bowl first. He dismissed the top order of India followed by the dismissal of MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav which were affected by Adam Zampa. Men in Blue were stopped at the meagre total of 118 by the visitors. Australians chased down the total with almost 4 overs remaining and with 8 wickets in hand.

During the post-match press conference, Bhuvneshwar has expressed that they needed to pick wickets in the middle overs fr restricting them to chase the total down. He said, “It was a tough wicket for batting. Rain was around, it was a damp. So you know, Australian bowlers made the most of the wicket. We tried our best to take initial wickets. If you have to win the match, you have to keep taking wickets especially in the middle overs which we couldn’t do. I would say they bowled better than us.”

Bhuvi even praises the exploits of Behrendorff for bowling exceptionally well in only his second international game. He said, “I think we tried to rebuild it again. But we couldn’t do it. We can’t really point a finger on someone and say it was their fault. It was just an off day for us. He [Behrendorff] bowled really well. He made full use of the wicket. It was the perfect kind of wicket for the line and length he bowled. You need to be bit fortunate to get three or four wickets in the T20s. Rohit Sharma’s wicket and Kohli’s wicket were the crucial point for us, in the first over itself.”
