The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 finally commenced in great fashion as Shimron Hetmyer’s brilliant half-century helped Guyana Amazon Warriors to register a win over defending CPL champions Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament opener. This wasn’t just what captured eyeballs in the Caribbean League, the next match showed some destructive performance by the fiery Jamaican opener, Chris Gayle.
Although, Chris Gayle didn’t have a great start with his team as he led to the final in 2017 as he managed to register a score of just 12 runs from nine balls he faced in the innings. The 41-year-old was dismissed cheaply by Barbados Royals’ bowler Oshane Thomas.

However Chris Gayle had a short stay in the middle, there was one highlight from his stroke play that did make an impact on his batting firepower. In the fourth over of the Patriots innings, Chris Gayle smashed a six off Jason Holder’s delivery. His shot was so intense that it eventually broke the window of the Warner Park Sporting Complex.
