The self-proclaimed Universe Boss, Chris Gayle has been a giant when it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was a brute force and hadn’t run out of gas even at the age of 42. He started his career for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after which he moved to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). From RCB, he moved to the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He played four seasons for the Punjab-based team before being released by the franchise.

Chris Gayle was mostly known for his prowess as a top-order batter. There was a time when he used to throw the kitchen sink at everything right from the word go. He used to help his team take advantage of the powerplay. At the Kings, Gayle also batted in the middle order and played some handy knocks. It was hard for bowlers to stop him once he got going.

Chris Gayle holds the record for the most sixes in his IPL career. The southpaw has smacked  357 sixes from 141 innings in his illustrious sojourn. Second on the list is former South Africa batter AB de Villiers, who hit 251 sixes.
