World’s most entertaining batsman, Chris Gayle is all set to play the T20I against England and he unveiled the Windies’ new T20I jersey.
A hint of fluorescent green with the traditional marron sums up the new kit. Gayle along with Marlon Samuels and Jerome Taylor has been recalled for limited overs series against the English team.
Windies’ skipper Jason Holder is aware of the challenge, as England have improved remarkably in the shorter format of the game, and were tagged as favorites during the Champions Trophy at home.
Talking about the challenge, Holder said, “We’re at the stage where we are looking to turn a corner and qualify for the World Cup, whether we have to go through the qualifiers or qualify automatically. It won’t be an embarrassment to play in the qualifiers. We are where we are and if we do have to play in them, we will take it one step at a time.”
The one-off T20I game will take place on Saturday, while the ODI series between the two sides will commence on 19 September.
However, the self-proclaimed Universe Boss is pretty optimistic for the game, he said, “I definitely want to play the 2019 World Cup. Things are beginning to open up a little more now between players and the board. It’s looking good, and we’ve to try and build from this to get the best players out on the field.”
