Coming into Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) match against Delhi Capitals (DC), Chris Morris has managed to garner a lot of eyeballs. He became the most expensive player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history when the Royals brought them for as many as ₹16.25 crores, leading to immense scrutiny and immediate pressure to perform. Then, in the Royals’ opening game against Punjab Kings, with the team needing five runs off two deliveries, Snaju Samson denied a single by captain Sanju Samson, even as they went on to lose.

However, with the team in a pressure situation once again, Morris stepped up and took his team over the line, as he smashed 36 off 18 deliveries to guide them to a three-wicket win. After the match, the Royals took to Instagram to share a cheekily timed video.

Captioning the video on Instagram, RR wrote: “Sound on.” In the video, Morris can be seen repeating the Hindi phrase “sambhaal lenge” (we’ll handle it).

Morris managed to handle the game for RR by himself, as his rescue act saw the Royals post their first win of the season. When David Miller was after hitting 62 off 43 deliveries, Morris took the onus of getting his team over the line and smashed four sixes in the last two overs of Kagiso Rabada and Tom Curran to seal victory with a couple of balls to spare.

After a terrific bowling performance that saw them restrict DC to 147/8, the Royals suffered a horrifying start and were reeling at 42/5 after 9.2 overs. But Miller’s half-century and a handy 17-ball 19 from Rahul Tewatia meant they stayed in the hunt and Morris delivered the perfect finish.
