Suspended all-rounder Ben Stokes’ return to the international cricket has been postponed as his first hearing date is getting clashed with the match date. Now, he will reach New Zealand late to participate in the tri-nation T20 International series involving Australia and New Zealand as the other teams.
Earlier this week, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave Stokes a green chit to represent England again after involving in an infamous brawl outside a nightclub in Bristol on 24th September.
However, the court is yet to make a decision for him as they will be holding a hearing regarding charges of affray, which CPS enforced on him. Due to being surrounded by the criminal offense, Stokes was stopped from playing in the Ashes series Down Under and One-Day International series against Australia.

The southpaw announced his late arrival’s date on Twitter, where he wrote “As has been confirmed in the media a first hearing date at court has been set for 13th February. In the circumstances, I have decided that it would not be right to join my teammates until after attending court on the 13th.”

ECB announced 13th February as his return date, while the first hearing of Stokes’ case will take place on the same date as well. Thus, his fans have to wait a bit more to see him playing in the national colors.
