The IPL 2023 final between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings has fans eagerly anticipating an exciting showdown at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, May 28. Gujarat Titans will be vying for their second consecutive title, while Chennai Super Kings aim to secure their fifth IPL championship, equaling the record held by the Mumbai Indians.

However, a viral image displayed on the Narendra Modi Stadium’s big screen claiming Chennai Super Kings as the runner-up of the tournament has caused a stir on social media. Fans are speculating that the final may have been fixed due to this image.

Nevertheless, it is possible that the image was merely part of screen testing conducted before the grand final, and a similar test might have been carried out for the Gujarat Titans as well.

It is worth noting that this will be the third encounter between Gujarat and Chennai in the ongoing season. The two teams initially clashed during the season opener in Ahmedabad, where Gujarat Titans emerged victorious by five wickets.

They met again in Qualifier 1 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, where Chennai Super Kings triumphed over Gujarat Titans by 15 runs. After suffering defeat against the four-time champions in their previous encounter, Gujarat Titans will be determined to make a strong comeback on their home ground and become the first team in IPL history to win two titles in their first two attempts.

Unfortunately, the much-anticipated final has experienced a delay due to rain. Heavy showers occurred at the Narendra Modi Stadium just before the scheduled toss time, leading to the postponement of the match’s start. The cut-off time for a five-over game is 11:56 pm, and if the match fails to commence by then, it will be rescheduled for the reserve day, Monday, May 29.
