Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel is one of the better wicket-keeper batsmen to have played for India. He has always been known for attacking the bowlers from the outset and his glovework was also précised. In fact, the left-handed batsman made his international debut at the age of 17.

Although the rise of MS Dhoni meant Parthiv didn’t play regularly for India, the southpaw continued to be a force to reckon with in domestic competitions and in the Indian Premier League. He played for several franchises in the gala tournament including five-time champions Mumbai Indians and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings.
