Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be getting a significant boost in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 as they are trying to recover from a disastrous start to the season. Deepak Chahar is expected to return shortly and will be coming back to the IPL 2022 later this month. According to the latest reports in the Times of India, Chahar might be ready for selection for CSK for the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) as early as April 25.

Chahar suffered an injury during the third T20I against the West Indies earlier this year and has already missed CSK’s first couple of matches in the IPL 2022 matches. Earlier, his participation in the full season was questioned. Based on reports, Chahar is expected to play for CSK before the end of this month.

The 29-year-old shared an update on his fitness via an Instagram story on Friday. He posted a short clip of him bowling in the nets at the BCCI facility. Deepak Chahar captioned the post as: “Update on demand.”

Former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra believes CSK are already missing the 29-year-old all-rounder. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “We always underrate CSK and then they do wonders. After the disaster of 2020, 2021 was the comeback of all times. But this season hasn’t begun well for them. CSK are already missing Deepak Chahar. The ability to take wickets with the new ball is missing.”

In their last league match, despite scoring 210 runs, the CSK bowlers failed to defend the total, and the Lucknow Super Giants won by six wickets with three balls to spare. CSK used two Indian pacers, Mukesh Chaudhary and Tushar Deshpande, who were both beaten by the LSG batsmen.

CSK are currently seventh on the points table after two losses in their first two matches and will be anxious to go back to winning ways when they face Punjab Kings in their next game on Sunday (April 03).
