Mukesh Choudhary is currently going through a deeply personal loss, with his mother, Prem Devi, passing away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. She had been undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, where she breathed her last. The Chennai Super Kings pacer immediately travelled to his hometown in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, following the team’s recent clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, to be with his family.

He performed the final rites alongside his elder brother, Dr. Rajesh Choudhary, in an emotional moment for the family. Reports suggest that Choudhary, who has featured in just one game for Chennai Super Kings this season, could either rejoin the squad ahead of their high-profile clash against Mumbai Indians or take a brief break before returning for the fixture against Punjab Kings.

The franchise has extended full support during this difficult period. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has reportedly stayed in constant touch with the young pacer, even visiting his mother during her treatment in Mumbai. The gesture reflects Dhoni’s leadership beyond the field, offering emotional backing in testing times.

On the cricketing front, Dhoni’s own return remains uncertain. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter has been recovering from a calf strain and is yet to feature in IPL 2026. However, his recent training sessions have sparked optimism. He was seen keeping wickets and spending extended time in the nets, showing signs of gradual recovery.
