The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been superbly consistent in the last decade or so. They have two IPL titles to its name and not to forget their Champions League titles as well. Their coach and captain have played a huge role in their victories.

The franchise has been the team to beat in the history of the IPL. They have ended up as runners-up on four occasions, reaching the playoffs in all the seasons they have played. The reason for the same is that they have had an excellent set of players over the years. With that, they also had the world’s best leader as well.

There is no doubt that MS Dhoni’s captaincy skills are second to none in the world. However, with a great skipper, there should also be a great coach in place. CSK had just that prior to their banning from the IPL.

Stephen Fleming is the most successful coach in the IPL history. He has achieved that with none other than CSK. The former Kiwi captain has been roped in by the Men in Yellow once again. The newly appointed CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan also went on to mention that they were making attempts to bring the staff back into the fold again.

With Fleming’s appointment, they are one step forward in achieving the same. Mike Hussey has also agreed to a contract with the team from Chennai. He will act as the batting coach for the team. He was the part of the franchise as a player as well. Former India pacer Laxmipathy Balaji has also been roped into the team.

Balaji will take care of the bowling side of things in the team. The trainer and the physio will be from the old setup. Kasi talked about all the appointments, he said, “We want to retain the entire support staff, with Fleming as the coach and Hussey as the batting coach.”
