Chennai Super Kings net bowler Jishan Adil has revealed that the franchise management asked him to take down his bowling videos from social media, following the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) stricter stance on digital content and behind-the-scenes coverage during IPL 2026.

The move comes amid growing concern within the BCCI about the growing presence of social media content in team environments, with officials worried that videos, reels, and casual uploads could unintentionally expose tactical details or sensitive information. Adil shared an Instagram story update, confirming that he had been instructed to remove his previously uploaded clips from the CSK camp.
“Hi everyone, as you all know, I have been posting my bowling videos from the CSK camp and thanks to you all, they all got viral within a few days. Unfortunately, CSK management has asked me to remove the videos from my social media,” Adil wrote.

The BCCI has already tightened its operational and anti-corruption guidelines for the season, placing stricter rules on broadcasters, support staff, and anyone with access to restricted zones such as dugouts, dressing rooms, and practice areas. A BCCI source, speaking to The Times of India, highlighted the growing concern over boundary breaches in content creation.

“There have been a few breaches by a few commentators. One former international cricketer was found making videos on his phone near the dugout in a tense situation of a match,” the source said.
The board’s concern is not limited to media personnel alone. With the IPL ecosystem increasingly driven by digital engagement, influencers, family members, and even non-playing staff have been sharing behind-the-scenes content from team hotels, airports, and match venues.

As per reports, the crackdown now extends to players’ immediate circles as well, with families advised against posting match-related visuals during the tournament. Franchises are also under closer monitoring regarding access provided to content creators within team spaces, as the BCCI looks to maintain strict control over information flow during the high-profile league.
