During the ongoing third T20I between South Africa and India at Cape town, Shikhar Dhawan was found wanting against a direct hit from South Africa’s new ball bowler, Junior Dala.
On the first delivery of the 16th over, Dhawan hit a half tracker from Tabraiz Shamsi towards the deep mid-wicket area. In a bid to accelerate the run flow, Dhawan called for a couple of runs.
Lesser did he realise that he was taking risk against the arm of a fast bowler. Dala, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, hit a sensational direct hit to found Dhawan short of the crease.
Opening the batting for India, Dhawan scored his first boundary in the 12th over. He ended up scoring 47 (40) with the help of three fours. Throughout this series, he has been amongst the runs. It’s just that his strike rate was not up to the mark today.
