England had recently announced their final World Cup squad which was seen some changes there. However, captain Eoin Morgan had earlier shared that the final squad will definitely be going to disappoint some of the players. The 15-member-squad has been included Jofra Archer in the place of David Willey. Archer was hoping to be selected in the final list after having performed brilliantly in the recently concluded Pakistan series. However, the left-arm pacer Willey had also performed well in Pakistan series.
David Willey has been one of the important players in the squad ever since he made his debut in One Day International after the 2015 World Cup. He has played 46 ODIs so far and bagged 52 wickets as well. He took four wickets in three matches in the recently concluded Pakistan series, conceding less than seven runs per over. However, his exclusion from the World Cup squad came as a surprise to many.

However, he expressed his disappointment on Twitter after being excluded from the World Cup squad by posting a video of his son in a sarcastic way, calling this as a ‘positive’ in his life.
“What can I say, I’m absolutely gutted. Still 100% behind the lads. On a positive…..still winning at life!!” Willey wrote in the Tweet.

Along with David Willey, Joe Denly also lost his place to Liam Dawson who wasn’t even featured in the team for the last couple of months ago. However, Denly failed to impress in the recently concluded series against Pakistan. Moreover, Dawson performed well in the domestic One-Day Cup, hence he is picked as the third spinner in the squad.
