India registered a dominating win over West Indies in the Women’s World Cup 2022 match by a huge margin of 159 runs in Hamilton Saturday. The Indian batters Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur went on to make brilliant centuries to help India post a mammoth total which set the platform for the win. West Indies batters faltered in their chase despite getting a good start they could not capitalize on it.
However, it was the run-out of Deepti Sharma which has left the fans perplexed. On the third ball of the 36th over, Shakera Selmon glanced the ball towards fine-leg and decided to run for a couple of runs. Chedean Smith who was at the non-striker’s end was running slowly and Deepti Sharma caught her napping she managed to execute a brilliant throw which resulted in Smith being run out.

The Indian team got benefitted from the centuries from Smriti Mandhana (123) and Harmanpreet Kaur (109) before Sneh Rana and Meghna Singh scalped 5 wickets between them to come up with a dominant show and stop the 2-match winning run of the West Indies. India posted a mammoth total of 317/8 before bundling out West Indies for 162 in just 40.3 overs to make a statement at the World Cup.
