After facing a demoralizing 1-4 loss in the ODI series against Team India, New Zealand will be looking forward to proving their worth against their formidable opponents in the T20I rubber. In the first T20I of the series in Wellington, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first and his bowlers didn’t have a great start as the Kiwi openers smacked them all -over the park and completed their tally of 20 overs with a score of 219/6. Indian openers, Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan had a daunting task to do.
Rohit got dismissed early and Dhawan was cleaned up by a 151 kmph delivery from Lockie Ferguson as Shikhar could not manage to get his bat down on time as the ball crashed onto his stumps. His cameo of 18-ball 29 came to an end in the sixth over.

It was a fiery delivery at 151 kmph, full and honing onto Dhawan’s pads, beaten with the pace was the left-hander, the ball clipped the front-pad and then rattled into the middle-stump. From New Zealand, Tim Seifert played an unbelievable knock of 84 runs off 43 balls was the highest run-scorer. Pandya emerged as the pick of the Indian bowlers as he scalped a couple of wickets. The Kiwis managed to score a mammoth 219/6 in their stipulated 20 overs. The Kiwis amassed as many as 219 runs in their quota of 20 overs with the loss of six wickets, Hardik was the pick of the bowlers for India as he got two wickets but conceded 51 runs as well. All the other bowlers got one-wicket each.
