On Tuesday, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi announced a nationwide 21-day lockdown since April 25 amid the Coronavirus outbreak. He requested the nation to stay at home while announcing the lockdown earlier this week in order to break the chain of the pandemic. While many have been suffering due to the lockdown, the daily wage workers and their families are affected the most.
Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states in India with more than 120 cases. And Pune, like Mumbai, has witnessed more Coronavirus patients in the state to date. And to help the daily wage workers in the city, the former India skipper MS Dhoni has decided to donate ₹1 lakh via crowdfunding website Ketto to the Mukul Madhav Foundation, a public charitable trust in Pune.

The donations made to this website will be used to provide daily grocery essentials to the families of the daily wage workers in the city. MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi shared the link of the same on her Instagram story and also urged people to come forward and donate as much as possible. The fundraiser has set a goal of achieving ₹12.5 lakh for the noble cause and the 38-year-old is the highest donor in the list at the moment.
In fact, after knowing about MS Dhoni’s donation, many people have come forward and donated and so far, more than ₹12 lakh have been raised.
However, a number of fans are not at all happy with MS Dhoni’s gesture because of the amount he has donated. As soon as the news of MS Dhoni’s donation became public, the fans came out in large numbers to criticize the legendary cricketer for his miserly attitude.

Dhoni Donates to Help 100 Poor Families During COVID-19 Lockdown.
Net worth – 800 crore💰💰
Donation – 1 lakhThis is meant to support 100 families for 14 days. 🤔
100 x 14 x 3 meals = 4200 meals. 1,00,000 / 4200 = 23 bucks per meal. 😱😱
Well done MSD. 👍👍
