Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi found himself in hot water once again — but this time, it wasn’t for his wicket celebrations. During LSG’s final game of IPL 2025 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium on May 27, Rathi was caught on camera unleashing a brutal verbal tirade at his teammate Ravi Bishnoi, leaving fans and experts stunned.
Rathi, playing his maiden IPL season, has garnered more attention for his aggressive on-field antics than his actual performances. Known for his Sunil Narine-esque bowling action and vintage MS Dhoni-like hairstyle, the youngster made headlines with his flamboyant “notebook celebration” after every wicket. But repeated fines from the IPL governing council forced him to tone it down — or so it seemed.
His fiery demeanour resurfaced during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where his celebration after dismissing Abhishek Sharma turned into an ugly spat. The incident earned him a one-match suspension, but Rathi’s attitude on the field has shown little change since.

In a fresh controversy against RCB, Rathi was seen furiously lashing out at Ravi Bishnoi during the third over of the innings. The flashpoint came when Phil Salt pushed a delivery to deep mid-wicket and stole a second run after Bishnoi misfielded. An irate Rathi exploded in anger, openly abusing his teammate for the minor fielding lapse.

Stadium microphones clearly caught Digvesh Rathi yelling an expletive-laced outburst, shouting “Maa ki ***** teri” at Bishnoi in full view of the cameras. The reaction shocked not only the audience but also his fellow teammates, with many calling for disciplinary action.

While emotions do run high in a high-pressure tournament like the IPL, many fans and former cricketers believe that such behavior towards a teammate crosses the line of professionalism.
