Dilip Doshi Considers Ravindra Jadeja As The Best Spinner

Former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi showered praises for the Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja as he termed the latter as the best Indian spinner across all the three formats of the game. Jadeja debuted for India in 2009 in limited-overs cricket but got to play his first Test in 2012 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

Jadeja has played 49 Tests, 165 ODIs, and 49 T20Is for India in which he has managed to amass 1,869, 2,296, and 173 runs respectively. He has also taken 187 and 39 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively, but he has scalped as many as 213 wickets in Test cricket. Currently, he is the only spinner in the Indian team who enjoys teh freedom of playing all the three formats.

Ravindra Jadeja He has been in the playing XI of the team in almost all the matches since World Cup 2019. As far as other spinners are concerned, they haven’t managed to find a place in the team across the formats.

Though Jadeja has been a regular feature of the squads across the formats, he rarely gets a chance to play all the matches of a series. In the India tour of New Zealand that happened earlier this year, while he played all the three ODI matches, he was dropped for the first Test match in the two-match series. referring to the same, Doshi said that he would like to see Jadeja playing every match.

During an online chat session with Playwrite Foundation, Doshi said, “I consider him (Jadeja) best among the lot. I will play him all the time.”

During the session, Doshi also opined that the chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers for Team India in his short career of three years. In the 60 ODIs and 21 T20s played, the Chinaman bowler has taken 104 and 39 wickets respectively. Also, the 25-year-old has featured in 6 Test matches taking 24 scalps.

Talking about Yadav, Dilip said, “Kuldeep is a great talent. The more he bowls, the better he will become.”
