The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik, who was plying his trade for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the indefinitely suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is celebrating his 36th birthday on Tuesday, and fans and his teammates have wished him on the occasion. The star batsman was recently seen in the postponed season of IPL 2021 wherein he accumulated 123 runs in 7 innings.
Dinesh Karthik will be next seen when the remaining season resumes from the third week of September. Yuvraj Singh, Shreyas Iyer, Vinod Kambli, Wasim Jaffer, Harbhajan Singh, BCCI, KKR, Mumbai Indians and others have wished the Chennai-bornplayer on Twitter.

While Yuvraj Singh has urged Karthik to “be less hyper this year”, Kambli said that he should not remember just for his Nidahas Trophy heroics. Notably, with 5 runs needed, Dinesh Karthik had managed to smash a six off the last ball versus Bangladesh to hand India the series.

Dinesh Karthik made his ODI debut for India in 2004 against England at the Lord’s. Since then, he has amassed 1,752 runs at an average of 30.52 in 94 ODIs.

Karthik made his Test debut in Test in 2004 against Australia and he has also played 26 Test matches and scored 1,025 runs at an average of 25.00. Dinesh Karthik represented India in 32 T20Is and scored 399 runs at an average of 33.25. He has played 2013 IPL games and scored 3,946 runs at a strike rate of 129.89.
