India and South Africa are locking horns with each other in the fourth game of the five-match ODI series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Dinesh Karthik replicated one of his slog sweeps while facing Dwaine Pretorius in the fourth T20I and also scored a half-century to take India to a winning score.
Earlier, after winning the toss, the visiting skipper, Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to bowl first because of the unpredictability of the conditions. While the Indian skipper, Rishabh Pant made no changes to the winning combination, the Proteas had three changes as Kagiso Rabada, Wayne Parnell, Reeza Hendricks made way for Marco Jansen, Quinton de Kock, and Lungi Ngidi.
India didn’t witness a great start as the opener, Ruturaj Gaikwad couldn’t carry over his form from the previous knock and was dismissed early by Lungi Ngidi in the second over, Iyer came in to bat at No.3 and Marco Jansen got the better of Iyer in the very next ball, courtesy of an excellent review. With the wicket of Ishan Kishan, India was reeling at 40/3.
Even Rishabh Pant got out soon and the men in blue were at 89/4 at the end of 14 overs. However, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik stitched a 65-run partnership to take the team to a decent total of 169/6.
Dinesh Karthik scored a half-century with his knock of 55 runs and also replicated one of the iconic one-knee shots of AB de Villiers. Dwaine Pretorius was bowling the 18th over of the innings. He bowled a full-length delivery to Karthik on the first ball of the over. The batter shuffled across the stumps and slog-swept the ball over a deep square leg. His shot reminded everyone of AB de Villers and the crowd cheered for the shot.

This has been a good recovery by India led by Hardik and Dinesh Karthik. 73 runs off last 5 overs. Over to bowlers to defend the total and level the series.#INDvsSA
