Faf du Plessis Nails The DRS Call To Send Back KL Rahul

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) failed to witness a good start while chasing the target of 182 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB as they were down to 64/3 in 8 overs. Skipper KL Rahul’s wicket came as a surprise to everyone as his RCB counterpart nailed the DRS call and helped his team to get a crucial wicket in the 8th over. Faf du Plessis’ 96 helped RCB to set a target of 182 for victory against LSG.

Earlier in the game, Dushmantha Chamira dismissed Anuj Rawat (4) and Virat Kohli (0) in the first over. Glenn Maxwell (23) batted hard but he perished after a catch from Jason Holder. Holder then took the wicket of Suyash Prabhudesai and reduced to RCB 62 for 4. Shahbaz Ahmed and du Plessis put on a vital partnership of 70 off 48 balls. Jason Holder took Faf’s wicket for four in the final over. RCB managed to score 181 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

In the second innings, Virat Kohli was seen leading as Faf was not on the field. Lucknow suffered a blow on 17 as Josh Hazlewood dismissed Quinton de Kock early. After Virat led for a few overs, Faf returned to the field and took over the captaincy. But for some time, fans were happy to Virat leading again.

Hazelwood also dismissed LSG’s Manish Pandey’s (6) in the next over to give RCB a big push. Lucknow sent Krinal Pandya to bat and it was an unexpected move. Meanwhile, Lokesh Rahul has crossed the 6,000-run mark in Twenty20 cricket.

Harshal Patel gave LSG a big blow on the last ball of the 8th over of the innings. Patel delivered the ball on the pads and it landed easily in the hands of wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. However, there was no appeal from Karthik and neither the umpire gave a wide signal. After that RCB took DRS and finally the ball took a light edge of the bat in Ultra Edge and Lokesh had to come back for 30 runs.
