Faf du Plessis, the seasoned Delhi Capitals batter, recently stole the spotlight off the field with a viral photo alongside Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta. Captured during their IPL 2025 clash in Jaipur, the photo set social media buzzing, sparking a wave of reactions from fans. One user, clearly captivated by their presence, cheekily suggested the duo should be cast together in a Bollywood movie.

“Someone please cast @faf1307 and @realpreityzinta in a movie already. He’s got the action-hero vibe. She’s aging like fine wine. Put them in a sports drama or a royal romance — don’t waste this visual perfection!” the fan posted.

Never one to shy away from banter, Du Plessis delivered the perfect response, replying, “Make it happen,” setting the internet ablaze with hopes of an off-field collaboration between the South African cricketer and the Bollywood star.

On the cricketing front, the match didn’t go well for Preity Zinta’s Punjab Kings. Despite posting a formidable 207 on the board, the Kings succumbed to a clinical chase by Delhi Capitals. Young Sameer Rizvi stole the show with a blazing 58* off just 25 balls, guiding DC to a six-wicket win with three balls to spare. His knock included three boundaries and four sixes, showcasing why he’s one of the emerging stars of this season.

Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer, while reflecting on the loss, admitted his side faltered with the ball. “207 was a fantastic score on this wicket. There was some variable bounce. We weren’t disciplined enough with the ball,” Iyer said, acknowledging that their execution didn’t match the game plan. He also explained that the bowlers went overboard with their short-pitched approach despite knowing the pitch demanded a more controlled strategy.

While Punjab have already qualified for the playoffs, their hopes of finishing in the top two have taken a hit. They now need not only to win their final game but also depend on favorable outcomes in other matches. Still, Iyer remains upbeat: “Every team is equally poised in this tournament. You’ve got to stay positive and calm. We’ll come back with stronger plans.”

Punjab will now look to regroup quickly and aim to finish strong, while Delhi takes pride in playing party spoilers — and producing a viral moment of glam off the pitch.
