The Indian skipper Virat Kohli can be termed as the definition of fitness in the Indian cricketing industry as arguably he is one of the fittest players the game of cricket has ever seen. Recently, he turned 30 and a few days before that he decided to turn vegan as well. Kohli’s form with the bat has been terrific and one of the crucial reasons for his success is his top-level fitness. In the last 2-3 years, Virat is having a tremendous run on the field and is recharging himself ahead of a grueling Australia series and skipped the three-match T20I series versus the Windies.

Kohli described, “I will not say something which is inaccurate. I will not say that ‘I never thought that fitness will make me look good’ because at some stage everyone thinks that way. Eventually, you realize that it does so much good to you in terms of your mental state, in terms of how you feel and how much more you can do.”

Virat, who is currently the second most successful captain for India in Tests at the moment, said he doesn’t keep himself fit to look good but to stay in shape. He said his professional requirements demand him to stay fit but said the routine will not change even after he bid adieu to cricket. He doesn’t think his lifestyle will ever change as fitness has become natural to him.

Initially, Kohli wanted to stay fit to look good but it became serious with it. He has scored 62 international hundreds and revealed that he took to fitness to just look good but eventually became serious with it and it left a positive impact on his performance. Kohli will lead India in a full-fledged tour of Australia starting November 21 and it features three T20Is, four Tests and three ODIs.
