Posting a gargantuan total on the board is one of the basic requirements of the IPL. That being said, it is easier said than done for even in a format like T20, scoring match-winning totals can be a daunting task. It might sound against the reputation of the format, but it is the truth. Posting big scores requires at least one batsman to stand out of the crowd and go on to play substantial innings.

5. Royal Challengers Bangalore (235-1)

During the 46th match of IPL 2015 between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai, RCB had put on board 235-1 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers’ captain, had won the toss and chose to bat. Kohli and AB de Villiers had shared a 215-run unbeaten partnership for the second wicket. Kohli batted through the whole innings to score 82* (50) with the help of six fours and four sixes. On the other hand, de Villiers scored his second IPL century, 133* (59), with the help of 19 fours and four sixes. RCB ended up winning the match by 39 runs.
