Having led India to a record victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy, head coach Gautam Gambhir has well-deserved time off, joining his wife Natasha and daughters Aazeen and Anaiza for a family vacation in France. Gambhir’s timing could not be better after being in the spotlight for India’s third Champions Trophy win to join their wins in 2002 and 2013.

This tour of the picturesque French countryside presents Gambhir with an opportunity to relax after a hectic international season and enjoy quality time with family. India won the Champions Trophy on March 9 when they beat New Zealand by four wickets in a nail-biting final played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The win also registered India’s back-to-back ICC title, after their T20 World Cup victory in 2024 in the West Indies and the United States. In spite of being criticized after India’s loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier in Australia, Gambhir showed his worth as a leader, leading the team to consecutive ICC triumphs.

Prior to being named India head coach, Gambhir demonstrated his leadership capabilities by leading the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third IPL championship in 2024. His achievement in the case of KKR and India’s ICC titles has made him an authority on masterminding and guiding.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) noted the team’s stellar performance in Dubai, declaring an unprecedented prize of ₹58 crore as appreciation. India’s journey to the Champions Trophy title wasn’t smooth sailing. They finished at the top of Group A, securing victories against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand.

They outplayed Australia in the semifinals and later edged New Zealand in the ultimate encounter. Gambhir is enjoying his vacation with his family while the Indian cricketers have turned their attention to the IPL 2025, which is scheduled to start on March 22 with a highly-awaited contest between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
