Gautam Gambhir is not even in contention for being selected in the Indian squad and his chances of making a comeback in the international circuit are nothing but finished. However, that hasn’t stopped him from playing domestic cricket. He is currently a part of the Delhi team, which is playing its first match in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy against Himachal Pradesh at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

Rishi Dhawan appealing for Gautam Gambhir’s dismissal

Gambhir scored 44 runs in the first innings and was dismissed by left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar. He would’ve been disappointed for the reason that he missed out an opportunity to scored a half-century on a track, which didn’t offer much to the bowlers on the first day. The southpaw was looking determined to do better in the second innings and looked good to score a fifty this time around.

Unfortunately, Gautam got out for 49 and the dismissal came in the form of a run-out. His bat was found on the line when Rishi Dhawan whipped the bails off. The decision was reviewed by the third umpire, which had a close look after which and ruled the decision in favor of the fielding team. Gambhir scored those runs in 52 balls with the help of seven boundaries and a six. He was the second wicket to fall for Delhi in the 20th over.

In the meantime, Gambhir decided to troll himself with the run-out on the occasion of Children’s Day, which was celebrated on Wednesday. The day is celebrated in order to pay tribute to India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The veteran campaigner put forth his two daughters- Anaiza and Aazeen and took a hilarious dig at himself.

He took to Twitter and uploaded the pictures of his two daughters. Moreover, he captained them and wrote, “Anaiza to Aazeen: Didi, how did papa celebrate Children’s Day? Aazeen replied: Well, today in the Ranji Trophy match he got run out like a kid!!!! Papa: @natashagambhir2 #ChildrensDay,”
