Glenn Maxwell had a poor season in the IPL 2020, where he couldn’t hit a single six throughout the tournament. He was eventually left out by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) before being picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the auction. And he has repaid the faith straightaway by winning them two matches out of the first three.
Maxwell mentioned he is feeling right at home since arriving at the franchise for the latest edition of the Indian Premier League 2021. He praised support staff and coaches for being extremely supportive.

In a video posted by RCB on Twitter, Maxwell said “The conditions are a bit different here at the Wankhede. There have been some high scores scored here, so for our batting group, it is going to be exciting if we can get going and continue to add to those high totals.”
The Australian batsman started the IPL 2021 with a bang as he raced to 176 runs in the first three games so far and is only behind Shikhar Dhawan in the orange cap’s race.
He further added, “I felt like I have been right at home since day one, the coaching staff have been extremely supportive so have the players, it has been great fun so far.”

Riding on Maxwell’s form, RCB registered three consecutive victories this year, which is their best start in the history of the tournament.
Maxwell has shared the responsibilities with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Speaking of it, he mentioned “It is just about taking one of the responsibilities of Virat’s shoulders. He has got a lot of things to do out there, to sort of control what fielders need to be at what positions is one thing he does not have to worry about.”
