In the ongoing Indian Premier League season, seasoned Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell faced another setback, continuing his string of low scores. Maxwell, known for his explosive batting prowess, was disappointed once again during the IPL 2024 match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), being dismissed for just one run.

The pivotal moment came in the 15th over of RCB’s innings when Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson reintroduced Nandre Burger into the attack to apply pressure on the visitors. Burger’s strategy paid off handsomely as the left-arm pacer swiftly removed Maxwell from the crease after conceding only three runs in his initial deliveries.

Maxwell’s downfall came when he attempted a forceful shot over the leg side to break free from the pressure. However, his swing missed the delivery, resulting in his stumps being dismantled by Burger’s rapid delivery.

This latest batting failure added to Glenn Maxwell’s woes, evident in his visibly disappointed demeanour as he trudged back to the pavilion.

Despite Glenn Maxwell’s departure and the loss of partners at one end, RCB’s stalwart batsman, Virat Kohli, remained unfazed. Kohli, showcasing his masterful batting skills, notched up his third fifty of the IPL 2024 season with a powerful six. blazed his way to an unbeaten 113 runs off just 72 deliveries, steering RCB to a solid position at 183 for three at th completion of 20 overs.
