The Indian captain showcased sheer class and played some of the most beautiful-looking strokes. He was involved in an outstanding 74-run opening partnership with Washington Sundar, who was promoted to open the innings in the absence of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan in the team.

After the dismissal of Sundar, Rohit was joined by the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli in the middle, and the star Indian duo had a 70-run stand before Maxwell bagged his second wicket of the match.
